Injured While Putting Up Holiday Decorations at the Work Place?

It's the holiday season, and with the holidays comes many businesses getting in the holiday spirit by putting up festive holiday lights & decorations. With those increased worker responsibilities, comes increased risks.

One maintenance worker was putting up Christmas lights on a tree outside his company's office building....and while on the ladder, he fell, and plummeted 35 feet. He suffered major injuries to both legs...and is expected to have a lengthy recovery.

His employer had assigned him the task of putting up the lights, so it is fully in the scope of being a job-related activity.

If you have been injured while on the job or doing a job-related activity, you are eligible for workers' compensation. It's imperative that you know your company's policy, but as we have seen far too often, sometimes those policies are filled with exceptions that have been put in place to try and keep your employer from being liable.

You have rights, and it's our priority to make sure you know your rights, and that you are compensated correctly. You worked too hard not get what you have rightfully earned.
