Everything Can Change at a Moment's Notice

There are those of us in our respective professions that have done the same task thousands upon thousands of many times that we can do it in our sleep. We've done it time and time again without incident...but all that can change at a moment's notice.

Just recently, a sanitation worker was critically injured after the step he stood on while riding on the back of the garbage truck gave way, and he fell to the street.

How does something like this happen? Did the step just give way suddenly...had there been warning signs that it was no longer in the best condition? Should the employer have been more vigilant in their safety checks?

With the step giving way, it's quite apparent that something faulty happened, and now, a hard-working employee has been severely hurt.

No one ever goes to work expecting "oh, this could be a weird day"...and that's what makes the aftermath of suffering work-related injury so much more difficult. No one plans for the worst...and nor should we...we expect that our work environment is a safe place.

If you've been injured on the job, it's okay to ask for help. There are so many questions that need to be asked...and ensure you receive your full & rightful compensation.
