Worker Injured Due to Falling Window

(from kshb.com)

A worker was critically injured after a nearly 600-pound window unit fell on him Thursday afternoon.

According to police, a multi-hundred-pound window unit was being lifted into position on a residential site. The window fell about 8 feet and struck a worker on the head.

Leawood police said the worker was treated at the scene by Leawood Fire and MedAct personnel before he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Even when proper safety precautions are taken, there is still a chance of that "freak" accident. It's important to remember that those types of accidents are still covered by workers' compensation guidelines. Too many times, we've heard from injured workers who thought that since it was "just" an accident, they weren't able to seek compensation. This is NOT the case. You have rights...and no matter the injury, you should always report the injury, and seek out guidance on how to be compensated for your injuries.

If you have been injured while on the job, call us at 515-225-4485. Eric, Randy, and Sarah are ready and willing to sit down with you and go over your claim. Together, we can find the best route to take to make sure you receive all your rightful compensation. It's our job to fight for you...it's your job to recover from the injuries you've sustained at the workplace.
