Falls and Falling Equipment on the Construction Site

Falling equipment and falls are two of the biggest injury risks an employee can face while on the job site.

We constantly have clients who have fallen...or have had a piece of work equipment...fall on them.

We find that all-too-often that these accidents could have been prevented had the employer done what was required, and ensured that the job site was safe for their employees.

Authorities in Delaware say a man was seriously injured when he was crushed by falling steel beams.

The incident happened Monday morning at Steel Suppliers Erectors in Wilmington.

Wilmington Fire Department spokesman James Jobes says Wilmington police and emergency rescue personnel were called to the business, where they found the worker trapped under a fallen beam.

The worker, who'd been helping with unloading the beams, sustained a fracture on one leg and damage to the other.

Jobes says the man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but in stable condition.

This can not be allowed to happen again. Eric, Randy, and Sarah are dedicated to fighting for the injured worker. Too many times, a negligent employer gets away with little more than a slap on a wrist (or no consequences at all).

If you have been injured while on the job, or doing a job-related activity, you are eligible for workers' compensation. It's imperative that you know your company's policy, but as we've seen far too often, sometimes those polices are filled with exceptions that have been put in to try and keep your employer from being liable.

If you've been injured at work, call Eric, Randy, and Sarah at 515-225-4485. The worst thing you could do is wait, and hope the company will take care of you. They won't...we will. We will fight for rights to make sure you get the proper compensation.
