Sea Wall Collapse Causes Injury to Workers

It's an unfortunate fact that accidents at the workplace can happen at any time...any place.

A construction worker on Marco Island was injured and flown to a Lee County hospital Tuesday after a 1-ton sea wall panel fell and trapped the man and others, according to the Marco Island Fire-Rescue Department.

Firefighters, Marco Island police and Collier County EMS responded to the construction site after the panel slipped off a chain and pinned the workers "in the hole that they were in," Marco Island Fire-Rescue Deputy Chief David Batiato said.

When employees are working on a construction site, it's the responsibility of the employer to ensure that the conditions are safe for workers.

Safety measures must be taken and enforced to provide this safe working environment. When employers cut corners is when accidents can happen...many of which result in serious injuries to employees.

If you've been hurt while at work, it's important to know that you have rights...and it's imperative to know how you can utilize your rights to ensure you receive your proper compensation.

In too many instances, we hear from clients who tell us that they were offered a compensation package from their employer, and had they not called us, they would have unfortunately realized that this employer was violating their rights.

Employers try and float packages past injured employees that will be the best for their own bottom line.

However, Eric, Randy, and Sarah will not stand idly by and let this happen. Call us at 515-225-4485 and let us sit down with you to go over your claim and decide together the best course of action to take. We will together with you to ensure you get your rightful compensation.
