There has been a lot of crazy weather lately...severe rains in California...snowstorms in the Northeast...70 degree temps in February in Central Iowa?
With all the unusual weather, there comes potential risks...
A heavy equipment operator working at a landslide that came down Friday on Interstate 80 east of Baxter was rescued after being trapped today during a new slide.
The equipment operator was working at the upper area of the slide in an excavator when he was momentarily trapped by the debris and then pulled to safety, Gold Run California Highway Officer Robert Schmidt said.
In an instance like this, the worker is eligible to be covered under workers' compensation. He was simply doing his normal day-to-day job activity when the unforeseen unaccdient accured.
If you've been injured while on the job, make sure you know your rights. Many employees who are hurt through unforeseen & unpredicatble events are unaware that they are eligible for workers' compensation...and as we've seen far too many times, employers & insurance companies aren't always forthcoming in telling the employee all their options. They're looking out for their best interest...at the expense of the employee.
We will fight vigorously to ensure your rights are upheld...and to get you the compensation you rightfully deserve.
