High Winds Can Be a Danger to Workers

Yesterday was an odd day in Central was raining...then sort of snowing...then raining...then freezing...then raining again. Nothing was constant...except for the wind.

Working in windy conditions can pose a severe risk to workers...

A construction worker was hurt when bricks from a building in downtown South Bend fell on him.

Washington Square Development -- the company renovating the tower -- says today's strong winds dislodged a concrete wall on the seventh floor.

It says the remaining portion of that wall will now be removed.

The man who was hit by the debris was taken to the hospital.

Family members tell us he's being treated for chest and back pain.
