Do Some Employers Have a Pattern of Not Providing a Secure Workplace?

When we see injuries re-occurring at a particular workplace, it becomes painfully evident that employer has a pattern of not providing a secure workplace.

This was the case with a factory in Texas, where after several work-related accidents, and investigation found....

Investigators found Breedlove did not provide a safe working environment for its employees, according to the OSHA statement.

In a report issued Tuesday, the agency cited Breedlove for 12 serious violations that included:

■ Not having an emergency stop on equipment.

■ Allowing wet floors to create slip hazards.

■ Lacking a lockout/
tagout program or procedures to power down machines before cleaning or maintenance.

■ Allowing machines without machine guards.

■ Permitting exit routes and electrical panels to be blocked.

Just one of those safety hazards could cause serious injury...but to see all of these violations, it's incredible any workers make it through the workday without injury.

Unfortunately, this happens far too often at workplaces. Safety measures are neglected are more and more frequently, and employers continually fail to properly protect their employees.
