Falls Continue to Be Leading Cause of Injury

It's incredible how many times we log on to our computers, and we were inundated with news stories regarding workers being injured on the job due to falls at the workplace.

Traffic was reopened on Dawsonville Highway after a shutdown earlier during rush hour when a construction worker was injured in a fall.

Crews from the Gainesville Fire Department and Hall County Fire Services responded around 4:15 p.m. to the westbound Dawsonville Highway bridge. A worker had fallen approximately 12 feet and was located under the bridge in the safety netting, Gainesville Fire spokesman Keith Smith said in a news release.

Crews used rope rescue rigging to place the worker in a basket for removal. He was raised from under the bridge and lowered onto the eastbound side.

If you've been injured due to a fall at work, it's imperative to know that you have rights. Rights that grant you the ability to seek compensation for the injuries you have sustained.
